Character names...

Kelson has been adding a few words to her vocabulary :) This week she started saying "Tink Tink" for Tinkerbell. She's attempting to say Dora, but not quite there yet. I think its funny that she her last few words have been character names and not the normal - cat, dog, etc.. She is still continuing to learn signing, but hasn't said any of the words she signs. The other night we were in the bathtub and Jason had turned on a Disney movie and you could hear the intro (the beginning of all Disney movies is Tinkerbell flying around) and Kelson immediately looked up at me and said Tink Tink (I was shocked- esp since she couldn't even see the TV- just heard the magic bell sound). I also think Grammy's balloon she gave Kelson for her bday (that played the chiming sound) helped her put that together. What a smart girl!!! Kelson's nursery is done in Peter Pan, so she sees Tink Tink and Peter Pan everyday :)

Tink Tink being one of Kelson's first words doesn't surprise me- esp because of her big Disney fan parents :) We are sooooooo excited about going back down to see Mickey and all his friends again. Not sure when- but hopefully soon.

Kelson's been giving BIG hugs lately- she loves to hug her dolls and whatever else she thinks needs hugging- her flashcards, her plate, etc.. ;) So lately she's been giving us BIG hugs- and that is one of the sweetest feelings in the world :)

At 12 & 1/2 months old
Kelson's signs: fan, light, milk, nighttime, bathtime, please, thank you, help, fish, puppy, holds up a "1" for how old she is, touchdown, food, water, so smart, waves hi/bye, blows kisses, and love you.
Working on: elephant and tree
*I plan to capture all of these on video and post them on here. Just gotta play around with it!

Kelson's words: dada, mama, uh oh, duck, ming ming, linny, what's that, and tink tink

Isn't it funny how words with repeating syllables seem to be easier for them to learn? I'm trying to teach Corgan to say "Belle Belle", but he's still not much of a talker. He's signing up a storm now though.

Kell, you've done such a remarkable job as a mother. It's no wonder Kelson is turning out to be our little prodigy!
